State of Hip Hop: East Asia was a 7 episode visual docu-series covering global music & youth scenes in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. The entirety of the series was conceptualized, shot, edited and created by Christian Virgil and featured on Complex and Pigeons & Planes. Christian pitched the project to editor-in-chief Jacob Moore at Pigeons & Planes, developed relationships with international artists, setup logistics with foreign artists for interviews, conducted all the interviews, shot/ edited all footage, and designed all motion graphics. Christian also created the entire brand design language for the series and sourced translators to translate the series. Further, he spearheaded the social media marketing/distribution rollout.

Christian also spent time as a social media intern for the Sneakers division of Complex. During his time there, he would create daily assets for the sneaker-related news for all digital platforms. Sneaker release date videos, memes, writing articles, and helping with day-to-day operations.
